A-Noid
I have two different versions of the Asia Aqua album. One is from Snapper and the other is the U.S. version. The Snapper version has bonus tracks and the tracks are in a different order. With 0.17, I was able to place these two albums and alter the Album tag as "Aqua (Snapper Edition)" and "Aqua (U.S. Edition)". Now with 0.18, I can edit the values using the new meta data edit or in the XML file, but Music Box always overrides my settings and places both of the albums in a single album. It renames the album tag in the XML to just "Aqua" for all tracks on both albums. Is there any way to force the update, so that Music Box will not update my values on start? Thanks, A-Noid
Jason Carr
Hmm, it sounds like maybe MBA isn't properly updating the file tags for those songs, if they're reverting. What happens if you open up the files in Mp3tag? Do they have the proper album names?
A-Noid
As expected, Mp3tag labels both albums as "Aqua". I would want to modify the data in MBA, so that I can separate the two albums. When MBA puts them together as a single album, then I can't listen to them easily, independently without maybe playlists. 0.17 allowed this and didn't override the XML changes that I made. 0.18 will override my edits to the XML the next time I start MBA. Change <Album>Aqua</Album> to <Album>Aqua (Snapper Edition)</Album> and <Album>Aqua (U.S. Edition)</Album> Once I've edited the XML through either your editor in MBA or manually, I want MBA to leave the changes alone and not update on startup. Maybe add a flag that album has been edited? Here's the first song from the 2 albums in Songs.dat. As you can see that both Albums are set to just "Aqua". Also, Snapper has 14 tracks where US Edition has 12 tracks. <LastUpdatedFromFile>0001-01-01T00:00:00-05:00</LastUpdatedFromFile> </Song> <Song> <FilePath>Music\Asia - [1998] Aqua (Snapper Edition)\Asia - [1998] Aqua (Snapper Edition).flac</FilePath> <MusicFolder>Music</MusicFolder> <Artist>Asia</Artist> <Title>Aqua, Part 1</Title> <Album>Aqua</Album> <Date>1992</Date> <Composer /> <AlbumArtist>Asia</AlbumArtist> <TrackNumber>1</TrackNumber> <TotalTracks>14</TotalTracks> <DiscNumber>1</DiscNumber> <TotalDiscs>1</TotalDiscs> <Length>1471330000</Length> <StartPosition>0</StartPosition> <EndPosition>147133</EndPosition> <StarRating>0</StarRating> <PlayCount>2</PlayCount> <LastPlayed>2019-07-28T17:45:22.1020148-04:00</LastPlayed> <FirstPlayed>2019-03-09T15:18:39.1056668-05:00</FirstPlayed> <Added>2019-03-09T14:49:42.7180642-05:00</Added> <Missing>false</Missing> <LastUpdatedFromFile>0001-01-01T00:00:00-05:00</LastUpdatedFromFile> </Song> <Song> <FilePath>Music\Asia - [1992] Aqua (U.S. Edition)\Asia - [1992] Aqua (U.S. Edition).flac</FilePath> <MusicFolder>Music</MusicFolder> <Artist>Asia</Artist> <Title>Aqua, Part 1</Title> <Album>Aqua</Album> <Date>1992</Date> <Composer /> <AlbumArtist>Asia</AlbumArtist> <TrackNumber>1</TrackNumber> <TotalTracks>12</TotalTracks> <DiscNumber>1</DiscNumber> <TotalDiscs>1</TotalDiscs> <Length>1462660000</Length> <StartPosition>0</StartPosition> <EndPosition>146266</EndPosition> <StarRating>0</StarRating> <PlayCount>0</PlayCount> <LastPlayed>0001-01-01T00:00:00-05:00</LastPlayed> <FirstPlayed>0001-01-01T00:00:00-05:00</FirstPlayed> <Added>2019-03-09T15:06:42.0912335-05:00</Added> <Missing>false</Missing> <LastUpdatedFromFile>0001-01-01T00:00:00-05:00</LastUpdatedFromFile> </Song> Edited August 2, 2019 by A-Noid

Jason Carr
Sorry for the delay on this @A-Noid. The easiest way to handle this would be to modify the album names of the two albums to include the edition information (snapper edition vs. US edition). You should be able to do this either in MBA or in Mp3tag.
